You Can Play is proud to partner with RISE to launch a new interactive course designed to help athletes, coaches, and sports professionals identify and interrupt the racial and LGBTQ+-related biases that show up across all levels of sport.
Many athletes exist at the intersection of multiple marginalized identities, and this course helps illuminate how race, gender identity, and sexual orientation often intersect to shape someone’s experience on and off the field. From recognizing common stereotypes to understanding how those biases impact access, belonging, and performance, participants will walk away with concrete tools to take action.
At a time when inclusion in sport—and in society at large—is being politicized and challenged, collaboration between mission-driven nonprofits like You Can Play and RISE is more important than ever. Both organizations believe that education is one of the most powerful tools we have to push back against division, misinformation, and fear. By coming together, we’re not just pooling resources—we’re modeling what it looks like to build coalitions rooted in equity, empathy, and shared responsibility.
