Identify the Problem:

"that's so gay", "fairy", "sissy", "homo" etc.

Cheering

chants using terms
-
"stop playing like a pansy"

Take Action:

Speak Up
-
"Easy up on the language."

"Choose a different word."
-

Inquire
-
"Care to elaborate on that?"
-
"Is there a problem here?"

Refocus
-
"Anything else you'd like to get out so we can get back to the game?"

"We'll talk about this later. Right now, cool off, and focus."

Ensure Everyone's Safety:

Make sure the person is safe
-
Some people will laugh it off, some may not be able.

Engage with the person directly, as if they are alright, and if they feel ok to be left alone.

Talk to your team

Answer any questions they have

Reiterate your team's values, policies, codes of conduct, and expected behavior.
